BIG CHRISTMAS FAIR
FRANKLEIGH PARK ACTIVITIES. The Frankleigh Park Hall presented a festive appearance on Saturday afternoon and evening, when a big Christmas fair was in full swing. Mr. C. E. Bellringer, M.P., opened proceedings at 2 p.m. with a short speech, in which he wished the fair every success and commended the residents on their zeal and enterprise in raising funds to improve the hall. The appearance of Father Christmas was heralded with cries of delight by the many children present, who thereafter crowded around the Christmas tree, erected in the centre of the hall, and eagerly purchased the many enticing toj»a that adorned every branch and twig of the tree. AU the stalls appeared to be doing excellent trade, whilst the many novel competitions were well patronised. The stall holders and committee were: Woodwork Stall.—Messrs. Beal, Williams, Marsh, Spindler, Allen, Boswell, Harrison. Sweets Stall.—(Mesdames N. Allen and R. Olivcr.Produce Stall.—Mrs. Booker and Miss E. Corney. Cake Stall.—Mesdames A. Lister, EMarsh, A. Williams. Fancy Stall.—Mesdames Harris and Kasper. Afternoon Tea.—Mesdames R. Corney, Spindler, Hamilton, N. Allen. Christmas Tree.—Mesdames W. E. Bendall, A. Bendall and Miss I. Harper. Ladies’ Committee.-—Miss E. Corney, I. Harper, Mesdames Frethey, N. Allen, R. Oliver, Booker, A. Lister, E. Marsh, A. Williams, Kasper. R. Corney, Spindler, Hamilton. N. Allen, W. E. Bendall, H.
