SUGAR PRICES RAISED

INCREASED TO £25 PER TON THIRD RISE IN LAST QUARTER, TREACLE AND SYRUP DEARER. (By V ire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. An increase of 25s a ton in the price of all grades of raw and refined sugar is announced by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, and the increase is to take effect to-morrow. This brings the wholesale price of No. 1 A. or table sugar, to £25 per ton. The present increase is the third with, in three months. In November last year the wholesale price was £22 per ton, or £6 10s per ton below the price at the beginning of that year. The company also announces increases in the prices of golden syrup and treacle.
