CYCLE ROAD RACING
RACE AT KAPONGA. The Kaponga Cycle Club held another race on Saturday. Sixteen faced the starter for a 20-mile ride. Th? weather was far from favourable and ail the riders were covered with mud, it being hard to distinguish them. Following is the result: — S. Blackwell (4min.), time 52min. 10 sec I D. Curran (firnin.), 54min. 32sec 2 R. Skevington (sniin.), 53min. 33sec.. 3 J. Blackwell ( crJ, finishing ninth, secured the fastest time with 51 min. lsec. CONTEST AT WELLINGTON. The following was the result of the cycling road race from Wellington to Trantham and hack to Wellington, a distance cf 42 miles, on Sat unlay. Heavy rain had covered the road with muddy water.
