COBHAM’S FLIGHT FAILS
MOTOR REFUSES TO START. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. New York, Nov. 25. Sir Alan Cobham arrived by the Homeric to commence a lecture tour on Thursday. His attempt to fly a Moth plane from quarantine to the Battery to prove the possibility of thus expediting mails was a failure. The craft was lowered bnt was only buffeted by ground swells and was eventually towed ashore. The majority of the passengers were indignant, for they missed their trains and Thanksgiving Day dinners. The flight has been abandoned. The motor refused to start, the plane was lifted from the Homeric and towed by boat to the Battery, whence it will be taken to the Mitchell flying field for examination.
