CAR AND CYCLE COLLIDE
RIDER'S RIGHT LEG INJURED. ACCIDENT IN NEW PLYMOUTH. A severe compound fracture of the right leg was the injury sustained by Frank Kent, of New Plymouth, when his motor cycle collided with a ear at the corner of Gill and Liardet Streets yesterday afternoon. He was removed to the Public Hospital in the ambulance and was operated on last night. Later his condition was reported to be as satisfactory as could be expected. Ernest. Bradbury, journalist, of Kohimarama, Auckland, was driving a fiveseater ear along Gill Street towards Fitzroy about 5 o’clock and the cycle, coming from the opposite direction, struck the right front mudguard just as the car was turning into Liardet Street. Kent was thrown to the ground with the machine on top of him. Bradbury pulled up and attended to the injured man temporarily.
