Fielding almost their strongest side the New Zealand League players conv pletely outplayed Keighley. Although they were inconsistent in the latter, stages they stated with .fine dash and flourish, playing fine football for the first twenty minutes. The forwards, of whom Mount, Carroll and Singe were most prominent, scrummaged excellently giving the halves many chances, and the backs’ passing bordered on brilliance. Keighley were unable to check the attacks. and Saunders, Singe and Davidson secured tries in quick succession, Mouat converting one and kicking a penalty goal. With a lead of 13 to nil the visitors eased off, the scrummaging deteriorated, play becoming more even and Keighley secured possession more frequently, but lacked finish.
