NEW SOUTH WALES CRISIS
APPEAL TO THE COUNTRY. ■ By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 24, 8.5 p.m. ■Sydney, Nov. 24. Although members of the Assembly regard it as an established fact that an appeal will be made to the country within four months they are still hopeful that something may happen to prevent it. The chaotic state of the rolls consequent on the change over to the new electoral system is being urged as a reason for postponing the appeal to the country, but it is anticipated that Mr. Loughlin will adhere to his determination to enforce an appeal to the electors. Mr. Loughlin has announced that nn- ]. ss the Premier honoured his promise to hold the elections within four months the Government would sustain a defeat on the floor of the House at the first opportunity. He added that a reconciliation was impossible. If there was any delay when the House met on Monday in giving effect to the Premier’s promises lie and his followers would take immediate action. Sydney, Nov. 24. Despite the political upheaval and the tacit understanding that the Budget proposals have been abandoned, increases in railway freights on certain goods, specially affecting country districts, come into force to-day.
