NEW 440 YARDS RECORD. By Telegrapu.—Press Association Auckland, Last Night. In the final of the Waitemata Swimming Club’s 220 yards handicap at the tepid baths this evening G. Bridson, the 440 yards intermediate champion of New Zealand and the record holder, improved upon the New Zealand intermediate boys’ record for the distance by registering 2 mintues 37 2-5 seconds. This time is 3-ssec. faster than E. V. Cunnold’s record made in 1922.
