KING'S CONGRATULATIONS.

Auckland, Last Night.
The Governor-General has received for publication the following message from His Majesty the King: “I have learnt with much interest that the new cable across the Pacific is open to-day. I wel come this addition to facilities for rapid communication which are so essential, not only for the advancement of the material prosperity of my peoples, but also for the promotion of mutual good understanding between them.”
