SAFE-BLOWERS AT WORK

CRIME AT OTAHUHU. Bv Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, last night. Explosives were successfully but unprofitably used on a safe in the office of the C. and A. Odlin Timber Company, Ltd., in Otahuhu on Monday evening. As in numerous recent instances of safe blowing explosions were heard by residents in the vicinity. The thieves effected an entry through a window and apparently used two charges of explosive. One was applied to the door of the safe and, following its opening, the second charge was used to open the cash drawer. The burglars obtained nothing for their pains.
