ATHLETICS
THE NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A meeting of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club committee was held last Bight, Mr. Medley presiding. It was decided to give four points prizes for the evening runs outlined by Mr. Hunter. Six field events are to be held, two each at the next three meetings. It is hoped to have the javelin, discus and other field events material by November 30 at latest. Appreciation was expressed regarding the comprehensive nature of the Caledonian Society’s programme for January 26. After some discussion it was decided not to entertain the proposed Auckland teams’ visit, but a day meeting was decided on, the tentative date to be February 5.
The following new members were elected:—J. Jackson, D.. Fraser, T. Dickson H. Kingston, M. Geddes, L. B. Shrimpton, T. W. Rawson, J. IVarner, H. J Julian and P. R. Sheppard.
