TARANAKI STOCK MARKET. Newton King, Limited, report as follows: At Omata on November 13 we conducted a clearing sale on behalf of Mr. A. Cowling. There was an excellent attendance and the prices obtained were highly satisfactory, in view of the season being so far advanced. The majority of the cows sold from £7 to £ll, only three-quarter cows making less than tlie former figure. .We also offered a number of cattle on behalf of other vendors, cows selling up to £lO 15s and yearling heifers £3 Us. At Aria on November 15 we held a cattle and sheep sale. The cattle yards were fully taxed and a fair number of sheep were offering. Although not a keenly contested sale a large amount of business was transacted at prices which showed a slight decline. The drop has since been general, especially with back country sales. Only one pen pf sheep was sold, that being wether hoggets at 17s 2d. Other quotations were' Fat and forward bullocks £8 2s 6d; three-year steers, £5 5s to £6; two-year do., £4 5s to £5; 15-months do., £2 15s to £4; fat and forward cows to £5; good forward conditioned cows to £4 12s; two-year empty heifers £3 to £3 3s; pedigree Jersey bulls up to £l5 15s; dairy heifers up to £6 16s. At Douglas on the same day we report a very small yarding of stock. Quotations were: Store cotvs £1 15s to £3; yearling heifers, £2 to £3; sound bulls, £5 ss; fat cows, £6 to £6 10s; calved heifers, small £4 10s, £5 10s. At Stony River on November 16 we had a good yarding but there were uo fat cattle offering. Yearling heifers were in plentiful supply, but the demand was poor. Other classes sold reasonably well.. Principal quotations were; 15-months heifers £2 2s to £2 2s 6d; fat aud forward cows, £5 2s 6d; forward conditioned cows up to £4 6s; stores up to £3; pedigree Jersey bulls, 91 guineas to 17 guineas; grade bulls £6 to £10; dairy cows up to £6. At Kohuratahi on November 17 we report i good yarding of store cattle, including several lines of useful steers and bullocks, for which there was not much competition, the result being that the best lines were passed in. Bullocks of fair quality made £6 3s; 3-year steers, fair quality, £5 12s lid; 2-year Hereford heifers, £4; 2-year steers, good sorts, £5. At Mr. Good's yards on the same date we held our Oeo Bale, and were favoured with a good entry of stock. Bidding was brisk from the start, and practically everything was sold under the hammer. Prices were: Light fat bullocks up to £lO 10s; light fat heifers, £3 10s to £4 ss; boner cows, £1 to £2 2s 6d; store forward cows, £2 10s to £4 16s; works bulls, £1 10s to £5; yearling steers £2 10s to £2 18s; yearling heifers £2 to £3; yearling bulls up to £5; rimu posts up to Is 6d. At’ Waiwakaiho on the following day a moderate yarding came forward. Yearling Jersey heifers with quality were the best selling class, although everything sold well. Yearling Jersey heifers £3 5s to £4; 2-year empty heifers £3 17; fat and forward cows, £4 3s to £5; dairy bulls up to £lO ss; dairy cows up to £6 15s. We held our Kaponga sale on November 19, and were favoured with a good entry of stock, everything being quitted at the hammer. Prices were: Yearling Jersey heifers £3 to £4 10s; light fat and forward cows, £5 to £6 18s; works bulls, £2 10s to £4 18s; store, and boner cows at late rates. In the dairy pens heifers and guaranteed cows met with fair competition, covfs bringing from £7 to £l2, and heifers from £6 to £7 10s. DOMINION SHAREMARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Association.
