The local mission authorities have been in formed of a student outbreak at Nanchowting, in Hunan province, in which the home of Mr. F. G. Draffin, an Australian missionary, was looted and the chapel badly damaged. Mr. Draflin and his wife escaped personal injury. The district is one of the loneliest in China. The looting is one of many disorders inspired by the approach of the Kuonrinehun army. The position of all foreigners in the vicinity is precarious.
