The Duke of York is daily reading newspaper reports of current events in Australia and New Zealand to familiarise himself with them He is especially pleased to notice that the New Zealand deep-sea fishing season has opened, and hopes to try his skill in landing something really big. He has often read of New Zealand’s wonderful fishing and friends have told tales of the wonderful snort there. He himself is a keen fisherman and seizes every chance of trout and salmon fishing in Scotland. His largest capture is a 401 b salmon, but he fears this is only a puny affair in comparison with the New Zealand catches;
