NAVAL MEN BADLY HURT

LEVEL CROSSING SMASH. f By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 20. Jas. Hastie, aged 23 years, and Stanley Church, aged 23 years, both leading stokers on the Diomede, who were taking part in the naval camp at Treutham, were badly hurt last night. They were driving a motor across the railway line and were run down by a train approaching the station at a speed said to be about ten miles an hour. They were hurled a considerable distance and the machine smashed. Hastie received a fractured skull and jaw; Church and his right leg fractured. They were brought to the hospital and Hastie is iu a very serious condition.
