The tennis competitions commenced in South Taranaki on Saturday, when the Hawera A and B teams met the Haw-era Park A and B teams. On the Hawera Club’s courts Hawera A defeated Park B by 127 games to 61 and on the Park courts Park A defeated Hawera B by 119 games to 84. The weather yvas very favourable and on both courts a very pleasant afternoon was spent.
