DUTIES ON WHEAT
GROWERS ASK FURTHER EMBARGO. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. The Mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union has appointed a deputation to wait on the Acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. Downio Stewart, urging a further embargo on wheat and flour imports. The union also protested against the woolbrokers’, charge of a shilling a bale for inter-lotting.
