NORTH TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. MEETING ON EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Northern Division of the Taranaki Cricket Association was held last night, when there were present: Messrs C. G. Bottrill (in the chair), T. H, Bates, S. Jones, L. R. Cooper, J. Garcia and O. M. Nasmith (honorary secretary). Final arrangements were made in connection with the North v. South Taranaki match which is to start at 10 a.m. at Pukekura Park to-day. The question of the summer vacation was discussed and it was decided this year only to take two weeks, viz,, Christmas and New Year’s Day, and to resume the fixtures on January 8. The attention of clubs is to be drawn to the necessity for starting matches at 2 p.m. It was also decided to have a score board in operation at club matches in Pukekura Park. It was resolved, that the match set down between Okato and Western Park for New Plymouth on December 11 be transferred to Okato, owing to Western Park having forfeited in the first round. The action of the chairman in granting permission to High School to play a town team to-day was confirmed.

NORTH v. SOUTH TAR ANAKIj

The chief event in Taranaki cricket to-day is the meeting between North and South Taranaki at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. The match is to begin at 10 a.m., and as strong teams are being fielded by both divisions, a good game should result. The teams as amended owing to some players not being available are as follow;—, NORTH. Kingston, Nasmith, C. G. Clarke (New Plymouth), S. Jones, Quickfall, Grayson (Western Park), Bottrill, Earl (Old Boys A), C. Lash (Old Boys B), N. Gibson (Egmont Village) and Dykes (Western Park). SOUTH. McCarthy, Lay, Giblin, Cheevers, A. Betts, Penny, Wilson, Cole, Little, Cottier and B. Hughes. Brown and Monaghan were not available for selection when the South team was picked, and of the team as announced Crombie will not be able to play to-day. He will be replaced by B. Hughes.
