TAX ON NEWSPAPERS
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME. By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 17. The Herald . states that it has learned on good authority that the publications tax, mentioned in Mr. Lang’s Budget speech, will take the form of a tax of a halfpenny upon every newspaper or periodical issued in the State, whether a charge is made for such paper or not.
