Ward, a New Zealander, hat been granted a special studentship from the Jarvis fund upon the recommendation of the Royal Institute of British Architects. A London cable dated July 1 statedt Mr. Basil Ward, of Wellington, secured second place in the competition for the Rome and Jarvis scholarships for architecture. He would have been awarded the latter had he been a student of the Royal lilstitute of Architects. >.
