FIRE-BRIGADE MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The thirteenth annual meeting of the Kaponga Volunteer Fire Brigade, was held last night, Mr. J. Stevena occupying the chair. The superintendent’s report and the balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. The latter showed a credit of about £3O. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Superintendent, A. Melville (re-elected); deputy-superintendent, J. Tyack (re-elected); first foreman, E. W. Blackwell (re-elected); second foreman, R. Pascoe; first branchman, Fireman J. Scanlon; first hydrantman, Fireman H. Hawke; second hydrantman, Fireman P. Thoumine; secretary, J. Tyack (reelected); auditor, H. Henderson. It was proposed to send a team to compete in the relay race to be held at a sports meeting in Hawera on Thursday week. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair and the Press.
