CATTLE BREEDERS
AYRSHIRES AND SHORTHORNS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 17.
At a meeting of the New Zealand Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Association a recommendation that a championship be provided for each island, one for the spring and one for autumn was lost.
It was announced that the South Island championship this year had been allotted to Oamaru; the championship for 1927 for the North Island will be held at Stratford, provided the Royal Show is not held in ’the North Island that year. The South Island championship will be held at the Royal Show meeting.
The New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association received a letter from the Minister of Railways stating that it was not possible to make any reduction on freight on pedigree cattle. The following recommendation was adopted: “That heifers be accepted for registration in the appendix of the herd book on completing under a group herd testing association butter-fat records as required for certificates under semiofficial test.”
