FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT

WELL-KNOWN MAORI KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. David Keefe, a well-known Maori, of Omahu, was found dead in Tunanui Road this morning. It appears that deceased and two other Maoris left last night in a motorcar to -go shearing. The car ran over a bank and Keefe was thrown out, but made no complaint of having received any injuries. The party slept beside the ear and on waking this morning they found Keefe dead. It is thought deceased must have fractured the base of his skull.
