A PASSIONATE LOVER
THREE ATTEMPTS AT SUICIDE. Paris, Oct. 10. Mlle. Marinville, a young Parisienne, falling in love with a young actor with whom she was not even acquainted, followed him to Clermont Ferrand, where he was appearing at the local Casino. As he did not reply to her passionate letters, she decided to die. Three times in four days she sought to take her life, but without success. She first tried to open a vein in her wrist, but the scissors she used were blunt, and she only scratched herself. Then she jumped out of the first floor window of her hotel, but alighted safely on the pavement without even a bruise. In desperation she then went to the edge of the local lake, blindfolded herself, and jumped in. But two fishermen dragged her out. The local police have now sent her back-under escort to her parents in Paris.
