UNFIT FOR TRAINING
REJECTIONS IX AUSTRALIA. Br Telegraph—P-esa Aasn.—Copyright. Sydney, Nov. M. Figures compiled by the Defence Department for tlm-year ended June 30 last show that SEfost one-third of the senior cadets examined for admission to the citizens’ forces were unfit for military training, while nearly a quarter of the trainees examined for the eadet force were rejected. The Director-General of Medical Services says it is not possible to analyse the figures because of a most important factor—viz., the reason for rejection is not given. A system, however, is being introduced to remedy thia defect, and this will provide valuable data. He added: “•From a military standpoint such a high percentage of rejections is a matter of grave concern and disturbing to the self-esteem of a nation.”
