CAPSIZE OF A GIG

Taihape, Nov. 15. A fatal accident occurred three miles from Taihape on Saturday afternoon, when a young married woman, Hazel Dean, aged 22, who has two young children, was killed as the result of a gig capsizing. The gig was occupied by Mrs. Dean, her husband, her father and a baby. The horse became unmanageable and Mrs. Dean jumped out, but rolled down a bank into a creek 20 feet below. The horse and gig followed, and crashed on top of Mrs. Dean, killing her instantly. The other occupants were uninjured. At the inquest this morning a verdiet of accidental death was returned.
