The following Government weather forecast wad issued at 4 p.m. to-day; "Present indications. are for westerly winds, strong to gale, bacjfrfog to southerly, and unsettled, squally and colder weather. . Rain is probable generally and heavy rain on the west coast of the South Island. The barometer will be rising everywhere soon.**’
