WELLINGTON WOOL-SALES. (By Wire —Special io News.) Wellington, Last Night. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, Wellington, report that the iirst wool eale of the season. took place today and about 11 per cent, of the bales were offered by various brokers. There was a large attendance of buyers, representing practically all manfacturing countries. Bidding was fairly well spread and was at times keen for particular lots. The condition of the clips was lighter and blighter than last season. Prices can be quoted in the main from pi to Id per pound below the last March rates. The prices realised were above Bradford limits, the bulk of the wool being bought by Continental and American buyers. The New Zealand mills operated freely for the finer grades and French buyers secured most of* the good liqes of bellies and pieces. There was, an excellent demand for wools classed by us in our stores and our binned wools sold at very good rates. LONDON MEAT MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date November 12:—New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb, 9 3-8 d per lb (average); mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light, 5 7-8 d; heavy, 5 7-8 d; ewe, light, 4pl; heavy. 4d.
