UNIFORM RULES ESSENTIAL. By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 12. A special meeting of the Rugby Union unanimously decided that the International Board’s laws shall be observed for the remainder of the season. Mr. Baxter, president, said he was most anxious to get unanimity over the laws. The union would endeavour next Marell to induce the International Board to accept the union’s rule. Sir Rowland Hill said the game would be spoiled if the laws differed. It was absurd to think of New South Wales next season having to discuss with different countries the set of rules under which to play. The chairman said the decision showed that England was prepared to mak. a temporary sacrifice for the sake of uniformity. Her lead would be reeehoed through the Rugby world. Received Nov. 14, 11.5 p.m. London, Nov. 14. . The Imperial Rugby Conference in London considered the New South Wales and New Zealand Unions’ suggested alterations to the rules. It also heard the Dominion representatives on the subject of the formation of an Imperial advisory board including overseas delegates. Both matters have been referred to the 'Home Unions and the Internation Board.
