HOMING PIGEON RACE
ELIGHT FROM PAEKAKARIKI gi The weather was not favourable for fast times on November 6 when th# Egmont Homing Club held a one bird Hock race from Paekakariki to New Plymouth. There was a head wind, and tlie winner took Ghrs. to complete the journey. This bird homed at ."i.G'/a p.m., after being liberated with the others at 10.20 a.m. The first three if* were:
A. Raby’s No. 8(1 (Speid King); time Obr. 4O'/ !! niin.; velocity 681.10yds per min J J. Aldrige's No. 3'14. (Red Stranger); Ghr. 4l|min.; velocity 679.15yds per min ? R. Leighton’s No. 59 (Cock of the North); Ghr. 44Jmin.; velocity 674.82yds per min 3 Christchurch will be the starting point for the next race held by the Eginont Club. In the race from Pieton recently No. 59, Cock of the North, belonging to Mr. R. Jjeighton tiul for first place with Mn. J. Aldrige's bird.
