TRADE OF THE EMPIRE.

PROPOSED ECONOMIC CONFERENCE. COMMERCIAL MEN TO BE CONSULTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 28. The president of the Board of Trade informed the Associated British Chambers of Commerce that when the arrangements for the Economic Conference are definitely settled he will consult the Chambers of Commerce and industrialists in England, and points out that the responsibility for consultations with the commercial and industrial communities in the Dominions rests with the overseas Governments.

The Imperial trade propaganda organisation, which has been actively engaged for the last four years in promoting trade, is merging into a wider and more influential undertaking under the title of the Empire Trade League, in the control of which all the overseas Dominions are represented.
