COMMANDER FRANK WILD.
ROMANCE AND MARRIAGE. London, Nov. 10. No one except those immediately concerned. and Mr. J,.Q. Rowett, who was mainly responsible for financing the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition, knew anything about the proposed wedding of Commander Frank Wild. This occurred last week and he was married to Mrs. Granville Altman, by special license at Reading Register Office. The bride is a widpw of a Borneo tea planter. Mrs. Altman’s husband died in Vladivostok, on the Pacific coast of Siberia, during the war. Unable to get home by sea, Mrs. Altman trekked from Vladivostok across Siberia- and Russia, about 3000 miles to Archangel, where there was a number of refugees. She was met there by a party of which Commander Wild was a member, and he assisted her to get out of Russia. Later he met her again in London.
