THE NATIONAL MUTUAL

Mr. F. W. Nicholson, Manager for New Zealand for the National Mutual Life Association, has received the following cable message from the Heaa Office, Melbourne: The fifty-third annual general meeting was held on the 21st instant. The new business for the year was very satisfactory —over thirteen thousand policies were issued, assuring over five million pounds. The total income for the year was over two and three quarter million pounds, being an increase of over two hundred thousand pounds on the figures of the previous year. ‘The sum of one and a half million pounds was added to the funds, which now amount to over sixteen and a half millions. Death claims were remarkaoly low being twenty seven thousand pounds less than last year, and the lowest since 1915. The rate of interest earned is nearly five and a half per cent. Expenses of management show a further reduction.

These results should be very satis, factory to policy-holders.
