WATERSIDERS’ LEVY.
DECLARED INVALID BY COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 22. Judgment was given by Mr. Justice Hosking to-day in the action brought against the Wellington Waterside Workers’ Union as a result of the union striking a levy of £1 per year upon its members. The court found that the levy was invalid, and that it became enforcible at no time, inasmuch as it was not made in accordance with the union’s rules. The striking off of plaintiff’s names as members of the union was declared wrongful.
