GOOD SALES AT TIMARU. PRICES EQUAL CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. The first of the current season’s wool sales was held to-day in the presence of a full bench of buyers, including representatives from Bradford, the Continent. America, and Dominion mills. The catalogues aggregated 8382 bales, representing all grades, the bulk being of fair quality, but rather below the parity of the clips offered at Christchurch. g For all classes there was animated com- ’ petition, a good clearance being effected at prices on a par with the enhanced prices ruling at the recent sale in Christchurch. The following is the range of prices: Merino, 21d to 22$d; halfbred, 15Jd to 23$d; three-quarter-bred, 9{d to 19jd; , crossbred, 7jd to 12$d; Corriedale, 18d to long wool, 84d to lid; pieces—merino 17Jd to 23jd, halfbred Bid to 20}d, three-quarter-bred 6sd to llsd, crossbred Bd, Corriedale 15Jd to 20d; locks, 4Jd to 10jd; crutchings, 4|d to bellies, sfd to 15ld.
