NORTH TARANAKI v. AUCKLAND. CHRISTMAS WEEK MATCH. The first inter-provincial cricket match of the season In New Plymouth will he played between Auckland and North Taranaki on Saturday and Monday (Christmas Day). The match will be played on the High School grounds, and play will commence at 11 a.m. each day. Wanganui, In the second innings, made 100 (Eatham 19). Fitzmaurice took seven wickets for 50. M.C.C. TEAM IN AFRICA. Johannesburg, Dec. 19. Play was resumed,in fine weather. MaryleI bone made 119 for no wickets (Russell 77, : Sandham 41). Owing to a thunderstorm the match was abandoned. FAILURE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Adelaide, Dec. 20. South Australia, in the first innings, made 274 (A. Richardson not out 60. Williams 37). Everett took six wickets for 59, Malley tnree for 106. The side practically collapsed. The scoring was slow, all but loose deliveries being treated with the utmost caution. South Australia followed on. and now have four wickets down for 54 (Pellew not out 16).
