DE VALERA IN DUBLIN. BOLDLY ATTENDS CHURCH. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 19, 10.20 p.m. London, Dec. 18. Mr. De Valera attended mass at the fashionable University Church at St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin, yesterday. He was recognised by those near him, but only three dared to leave mass and warn headquarters. Free State troops arrived just after the congregation had passed out, and they found that de Valera had escaped in the crowd. It is generally believed de Valera has been deposed from the chiefsnip of the Republicans. A FATAL MISTAKE. FREE STATERS SHOOT LOYALIST. Received Dec. 19, 10.20 p.m. London, Dec. 18. Patrick Martin, a loyalist, saw a man with a revolver and took it from him. A little later a party of Free State troops passed in a motor cgr, and Martin ran towards them, waving the revolver, being desirous of giving it up. The troops mistook his action and riddled Martin with machine-gun bullets. IRISH IN SCOTLAND. SUPPORT THE FREE STATE. Received Dec. 19, 9.45 p.m. London, Dec. IS. Scottish Sinn Fein clubs decided to support the Free State Government. It was decided to form an Irish Exile League of Britain, which it is endeavouring to extend throughout the country. Mr. Cosgrave sent the following message to the club: “Ireland feels she can count upon the moral support of her children in Scotland in the present task of combating internal faction and restoring peace.” OUTRAGES ON RAILWAYS. London, Dec. 18. The Irregulars carried out a series of railway outrages near Dundalk, including an unsuccessful attempt to derail a passenger train, holding up and robbing a goods train, and raiding Carrick-on-Shannon station. McGarry’s son, who was removed from a house burned by rebels, has died. Mrs. McGarry is still in hospital. When McGarry to-day visited his wife, several armed men fired at him, but all missed. GOVERNOR-GENERAL RECEIVED BY KING. London, Dec. 16. The King gave a cordial audience to Mr. Tim Healy, Governor-General of Ireland, and discussed Irish affairs for half an hour.
