THE ENGLISHMEN'S TOUR ■TBLCOMED AT WANGANUI Uy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Dec. 19. The English cricketers arrived a.t midday and were accorded a civic reception. There is a large crd(.vd and the weather is fine for the match, which starts at 2 o’clock. HEATHCOTE-WILLIAMS SHIELD. Christchurch, Dec. 19. The High School retained the HeathcoteWilliams shield, beating Napier by an innings and 171 runs. The scores were: Christchurch 293 (Cromb 156) ; Napier 20 and 102 (White 25, Potaka 15, Williams 13, Bickley n >- INTER-COLLEGIATE MATCH. Wellington, Dec. 19. The college mafich was resumed to-day in fine weather. Wanganui resumed the batting. Craig and Ritchie, for the seventh wicket, added 102 runs. The innings closed for 199 (Craig 61, Ritchie 68 not out). Foley took four wickets for 22. At the luncheon adjournment Wellington, in the second Innings, had lost three wickets for 48 (Evans 12, Rollings 18). NO PLAY AT ADELAIDE. Adelaide, Dec. 18. On account of the rain there was no cricket played to-day.
