DEPARTMENT FIGHTING SPREAD. By Telegraph.— Press Assn. —Copyright. Wellington. Last Night. Regarding the fireblight in Auckland, which is said /to be on the increase, the authorities here state that everything possible is being done to keep it in check. / Mr. H. Campbell, director of the horticultural section of the Department of Agriculture, said the department’s officers hiyVe had heavy work made for them by the unfortunate increase. It is hoped to keep the disease confined to a limited area.
