THE PEOPLE’S. “THE NEW TEACHER” TO-NIGHT. Shirley Mason’s latest picture, "The New Teacher,” is the feature attraction on to-night’s new programme at the People’s. In this splendid William Fox production the litthe star surpasses her past excellent performances, and adds another laurel to her crown as one of the leading lights of the screen. In thin feature Miss Mason enacts the role of a wealthy New York girl who tires of the social grind, bile is t>ored with her mode of living and yearns to do something for her Teilow beings in the poorer districts of the great city. Her opportunity comes when her mother tells her tliat the family fortune has been dissipated, and she takes a position as a teacher in the slums. The supporting films are Sunshine Comedy “Excuse the Sheriff*’ Scenic (Vesuvius) and Fox News. EVERYBODY’S MATINEE AT 2 P.M. TO-DAY. The best Larry Semon comedy yet (and there have been no bad ones) is “The ‘Sawmill,” which screened for the first time at Everybody’s last night. To enable the kiddies to see this two reel shriek of laughter the management have arranged a special matinee for 2 p.m. to-day when “The Sawmlil” and “The Invinsible Fear” (starring, Anita Stewart) will be screened. Not since the filming of “In Old Kentucky” has Anita Stewart had such a strenuous time on a picture as mat which confronted her in the making of **'lue Invinsible Fear” a First National Attraction which shows for the last time to-night at Everybody’s. Directed by Edwin Carewe, she raced over hedges and across fields, plodded through rainstorms, battled furiously with Walter McGrail, and was the central figure in a midnight burglary in a country Home. Filled with excitement and geared up to high dramatic speed, “The Invin sible Fear” affords Miss Stewart many opportunities to arouse the admiration, and affection of her audiences. Lady patrons will be especially interested/in the beautiful gowns worn by Jfaiss Stewart. Larry Semon also figure on the programme in “The SawmiJY,” one of the best two reel comedies/to date.
