BRITISH TROOPS LEAVE. FINAL EVACUATION. FREE STATE IN CONTROL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright Received Dec. 18, 9.45 p.m. London, Dec. 18. Huge crowds witnessed the final evacuation of British troops from Dublin. General Sir Nevil McCready hand* ed over the British headquarters to Mr. Mulcahy, whose first act after courtesies and the departure of the British was to hoist the white, green and orange tricolor. Free State troops paraded the streets and took over the various barracks. They then assembled and were reviewed by Mr. Mulcahy. The difference in bearing of the British and Free State troops was most marked, and Mr. Mulcahy was overheard to tell the Dublin guard*: “For God’s sake put your shoulders back and try to look like soldiers.’*
