PUBLIC NOTICES. TARANAKI ELECTORATE. Ladies and Gentlemen, — you please allow me to tender my sincere thanks for the honour you have conferred upon me by my re-election as your representative in Parliament? You have my assurance that no effort will be spared on my part to justify the renewal of confidence reposed in me. To the members of my various committees and all others who worked so hard to secure my return, I beg to offer my sincerest and hearty thanks. May I add that it was a matter for great regret that elements were introduced into the campaign that should not have entered into a political contest, but to those responsible I offer full forgiveness, and only ask that the same spirit may be shown towards myself for anything that may have emanated during the heat of the battle or when excitement was running high on the night of the declaration of the poll. I trust we may now all co-operate in pushing on the true interests and progress of the best province in the Dominion in particular, and New Zealand generally. Wishing all the Compliments of the Season. Yours faithfully, SYDNEY G. SMITH. DECLARATION OF RESULT OF POLL FOR THE ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF TARANAKI.
