CAMBRIDGE BEAT OXFORD. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 13, 8.5 p.m. , London, Dec-. 12. The forty-seventh inter-’Varsity Rugby match at Twickenham unexpectedly resulted in the defeat of Oxford by 21 points to 8. The King and the Duke of York wore present at the match, which was clean and fast. Cambridge won by virtue of superior tackling and magnificent dribbling work by Evans and Hamilton Wickes, as wing three-quarters. The Australasians in the Oxford team all played splendidly and thoroughlj- justified inclusion. Lawton, as full-back, tackled well, and his kicking was sure and long. Aitken and Wallace, the respective wing three-quar-ters, were fast and always took the hall cleanly. Bettington just failed to convert, Oxford’s only try In the first half. Lawson converted a try in the second half. ENGLAND DEFEATS WALES. London, Dee. 12. At the Rugby League game, England defeated Wales by 12 points to 7.
