Steps are being taken to dispose of the trawlers, plant and equipment as soon as possible. LIFTING NEW SEASON’S WHEAT. Sydney, December 8. Local shipping circles object to the proposal of the London office of the Commonwealth line to place arrangements for lifting the new season’s Australian wheat in the hands of a combination of London chartering nouses. As an inducement for the adoption of the scheme the chartering commission is fixed at 5% per cent., in lieu of 6 per cent., but it is contended that the freights and, on the other hand, that the monopoly will tend to advance freight's. Victoria, South Australia and West Australia are favourable t-o the scheme, but New South Wales is determined to adhere to the open market. AN EXPENSIVE THROW. Auckland, Dec. 7. A youth was fined £1 for throwing an egg during Mr. Hall Skelton’s politica’ meeting last night.
