ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLE’S. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. . When Ralph rConnor wrote “The Foreigner ’ he made it one of the most vivid portrayals of the vast open-air life of his beloved Canada that had ever been done. But it was left to the sqreen to make it even more memorable, for in “God’s Crucible,” which screens to-day and to-night at the People’s, the greatness and the wonder of the theme stand out as was impossible before. As the tragedy unfolds itself, one is left literally gasping at the swiftness of events. The scenery is such as may be seen only in Canada. There is a storm scene which is a triumph of the kinema art. The acting of everyone in the all-star cast, including Gaston Glass of “Humoresque” fame, is really excellent, preserving with absolute faithfulness the spirit and virility of a great story. Throughout the six reels, “God’s Crucible” will prove not only an entertainment of a very high order, but a treat to the eye -aa well. The supporting films include episode 8 of '"The Blue Fox,” Comedy and Topical. Prices of admission are a® usual. .EVERYBODY’S. MATINEE TO-DAY 2 PM.
