MR. HOLLAND’S REFLECTIONS. “LABOR TO HOLD BALANCE OF POWER.” Westport, Dec. 7. Speaking after some of the results were known, the Leader of the Labor Party (Mr. Holland) remarked that Labor had lost none of the seats held in the last Parliament, and had made immense gains in voting strength. Al! the Auckland seats and the Lyttelton seats were won last time on minority votes. This time each was won by a substantial majority. He was especially gratified at the victories in Nap Fer, Auckland East, Christchurch East, and Westland. At the time of speaking, he was awaiting the results in other centres, and anticipated additional victories. Labor* had made a great advance, and in tne event of its not securing the position of the Official Opposition it would hold the balance of power between the other two parties.
