BUTTER PRICES DOWN.
SUPPLY EXCEEDS DEMAND. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 8, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 7. The consumption demand for butter is quiet, despite a teductiMn in prices. New Zealand choicest is at 170 s to 1745, and Australian lG4s to 1655, with unsalted about 4s premium. Present arrivals far exceed requirements, and retail prices are being reduced 2d a lb. There seems little hope of an increased demand before January.
The cheese market is quiet. New Zealand is worth 122 s to 12flg.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. •;
