A CHARGE REFUTED.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —This morning’s issue of your paper contains a letter reflecting on Mr. Masters* attitude in connection with a local dispute which took place at Tahora re boarding allowances for school children, and was ventilated at lite Education Board table during the time 1 -was chairman. I am not concerned in personalltiea at political elections, but must protest against the insinuation that Mr. Masters used political influence. Board members are. not of the calibre to stand for it, and, further, it is not true. Mr. Trimble and I were appointed a committee to conduct the investigations, and were entirely responsible for the report furnished the board. I may say that I have had the pleasure of sitting on the Education Board with four bers and ex-members of Parltahient —Messrs. Wilkinson, Dixon, Masters and Smith, and can testify to tlie consistently good work done by them all.—l am, etc., i PERCY J. H. 4 WHITE. New Plymouth, December 5.
