WEW ZEALAND PRODUCE. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 2nd instant, from the High Comfhissioner for New Zealand, London. Prices are for ’ December 2. MEAT. Market, quiet. New Zealand wethers not quoted; ewes unchanged. Fair trade In beef. New Zealand Mutton. —Ewes, 6%d to 7<l. New Zealand Lamb.—Best quality, lightweight 11 Mid to Is, heavyweight 10%d, North Island, ordinary lid to U)6d, second-class quality 10%d to lid. BUTTER. Market weak and irregular. New Zealand.--Saltetj, finest 188 s to 196 s per cwt. (Is B%d to Is B'/ 2 d per lb.), exceptional 192 s per cwt. (Is B%d per lb.). Unsalted: 196 s to 200 s per cwt. (Is 9d to Is 9%d per lb.). Other qualities, 184 s to 186 s per cwt. (Is 7%d to Is 8d per lb.). CHEESE. Market quiet. New Zealand.—Colored, 124 s to 128 s per cwt. (Is l%d to Is l%d per lb.) ; white 126 s per cwt. (Is per lb.). TARANAKI SALES. Newton King, Ltd., report:— At Urenul, on November 27, a large yard.ing of store cattle sold under steady competition, but dairy cattle were weak of sale. Ewes and lambs 32s Bd, forward wethers 265, fat cows £4 15s, £5 10s, store do. 33s fid. £2 8s 6d, well-grown 15-month Shorthorn steers £2 10s, 3-year-old steers £3 2s fid, £3 15s, fresh conditioned do, £4 2s 6d, springing Jersey heifers £l2, boner bulls 255, £3 10s.
At. Stratford, on November 28, a fair yarding of-stores sold at late rates. A moderate offering of dairy cattie . sold well. Store cows 355, £2 15s, extra prime cow £7 2s fid, 15month steers 355, boner bulls 255, £3 15s, 15-month heifers £2 4s. £2 13s 6d, £3 7s 6d. Jersey do. £6 16s 6d, heifers at profit £6, £9 ss, £lO 10s, dairy cows £B, £lO 15s, quality do. £l2, £l3 10s. At Inglewood, on the following day, a fair entry of store cattle came forward, and a good clearance was eventually effected. Only a small offering of dairy cattle were penned. 15-month steers 38s fid, 15-month Holstein heifers £3 15s, £4. Jersey do. £5 ss, other classes £3, £3 • 18s. store cows 255. £2, forward do. £3 2s 6d. springing heifers £5 ss, £7 10s, springing cow to £l2 10s. At Rahotu, on the 30th ult., a moderate yarding was fully cleared. Fat cows £5 ss, £5 9s, light do. £4. £4 10s, store do. 255, £2 12s fid, 15-month heifers £2 5s Gd, £3 10s, £4 10s, dairy cows £lO, springing heifers £5 10.8.
At Uruti, on the same day, a. good entry met with an excellent sale, a total clearance being effected, sheep especially selling at improved rates. Shorn hoggets 19s 3d, 19s 9d, shorn 4-toot.h ewes and lambs 34s lid. woolly ewes and lambs 30s, 15-month Holstein heifers. £3 6s, Shorthorn do. £2 9.5, £2 12s. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 1M instant: — New Zealand Butter.—Salted 188 s to 190 s per cwt.; unsalted 196 s to 200 s per cwt. Market weak. 1 Cheese.—l22s to 128 s per cwt. Market dull.
FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., report for the week ending December 2:— At. Eltham on Wednesday there was a. fair entry which met with a particularly good demand, best fat cows £6 to £6 10s, others £5 to £5 15s, forward ditto £3 10s to £4; boners and bulls showed a slight advance on late rates. Fresh-conditioned bullocks £4 15s, 3%-year steers £3 17s, dairy heifers, best £9 10s to £ll, others £7 to £B, fat wethers shorn 275. On Thursday, at Hawera. we had a full yarding of cattle. The export of buyers was well represented and cows and bulls sold at. prices slightly in advance of late rates. Other stock met with good competition and most of the entry changed hands at prices satisfactory to the vendors. There was a particularly large yarding of pigs, about 160 coming forward. The entry was slightly in excess of the requirements, but nevertheless a good sale resulted and the most of the vendors were able to sell at good prices. Fat bullocks made £ 7 ss. fat cows £5 5s to £5 10s. heavy cows (with a bit of age) £4 to £4 15s, others £2 15s to £3 ss. Forward young cows £3 to £3 10s, store cows 35s to £2 7s 6d, works, bulls £2 to £5, cows and calves £2 10s to £3 is, dairy cows £6 to £8 15s. dairy heifers £5 5s to £6 ss, in milk £4 5s to £5 10s, sound bulls, yearlings' £2 to £4 ss, 2-years £7, Jersey cross heifers 2-years £4 10s, Shorthorn yearling heifers £2 to £2 6s, good yearling steers £2 10s, medium Jersey cross heifers £3 3s, small Holstein heifers £2 12s fidOn Friday at Waverley we had a good entry of cattie, and a small yarding of sheep. Included in the offering were several pens of good and medium-conditioned bullocks. These met witli spiirted bidding and sold at prices highly satisfactory to the vendors. Weaner pigs made 245, 4-year gelding unbroken £26, aged mare £l2 10s, harness made with foal £5 10s, forward wethers 24s 6d, cull 2 twotoot hs 17s 2d, fat and forward cows £3 T-s (id to £4 ss, store cows 35s to £2 12s 6d, good conditioned 4-year bullocks £5 19s, fair ditto £5 7«. 3 and 4-year steers lair condition and quality £4 10s to £4 19s, year good bred steers £4 10s, works bulls £2 to £3 ss, sound Jersey bull £l2 10s. Jersey cross yearling heifers £5 13s, bhorthorn ditto £3 ss, dairy heifers £3 to £7.
