Queensland, in their first innings, made 134 (Oxenham 22). Malley took six wickets for 45. New South Wales have lost two wickets for 68 (Collins 30, Asher not out 32). THE AUCKLAND TEAM.

The selectors of the Auckland Cricket Association have chosen the following players to represent Auckland in the first match against MacLaren’s team: Rountree, C. Alcott, Snedden. Smith, Garrard, Player, Dacre, Fraer, Anthony, McLeod, Whelan. Emergency, Hotbpool. RAIN PREVENTS PLAY. All cricket fixtures set down in South Taranaki for Saturday were postponed on account of the rain, and will be played next Saturday. NORTH TARANAKI v. WANGANUI. PLAYERS FOR PRACTICE. The selection committee has chosen a number of plyaers to practice in anticipation or selecting the team to represent. North Taranaki to play Wanganui for the Hawke Cup on December 20 and 21. Practice will be held on the High School ground on Friday and in Pukekura Park every evening next week. Those selected are: C. G. Bottrlll (Old Boys), U. G. Clarke (New Plymouth), E. R. Coutts (Inglewood), F. C. Ferry (New Plymouth), C. Foreman (Tikorangt), W. Fuller (Urenul), n. Grayson (New Plymouth), N. Gibson (Inglewood), V. Halley (Western Park), C. N. Kingston (New Plymouth), B. Lambert (New Plymouth), C. Lash (Old Boys), R. H. Newoold (New Plymouth), T. O’Neill (Urenul), A. H. Osborne (Old Boys), I. W. Palmer (High School), F. H. Robertson (Western Park), C. Wilson (Urenul). Any member unable to play at. Wanganui is requested to notify the secretary of the association at once.
